Throughout history Georgia was always sucking up to some major power, the Persians, the Turks, the Russians, and now (that's right), the Americans.

Why doesn't Georgia stop all the dick sucking, stop being somebody's bitch, and have their own independent policy, all the while having friendly relations with its neighbors?

It is possible. Look at Finland for example.
