The music kills it. Why do DVD makers think audiences want to dance around while watching the film? I don't want dance. I want to sit still and concentrate. The music should be subliminal at best not dominant and in your face. Even sound film don't have wall-to-wall music.

Elmo Lincoln i recall reading, took on a lion that escaped on the set and beat it. He was a tough dude.

What I read in Tarzan of the Movies, the scene where a lion was trying to squeeze through a window of Tarzan's jungle cabin, to attack Jane and her servant, turned vicious, even though he was elderly and drugged. Lincoln actually killed the critter on camera, and you can see it in the movie. Lincoln said when he put his foot on the carcass to do the Tarzan yell of triumph some air was released from the dead lion's lungs, making a slight roaring sound, causing him to jump several feet.

So its a good bet that any wounds and blood shown on him, are the real deal there. Wish more of these old tazan films survived.
