The driver of the accident was just sentenced last week to 15 years in prison. She has to serve at least 85% of it so will only serve about 12 years and 9 months.

Very tragic. People still think that drunk driving is a victimless crime, until there are victims, and when that happens it's "just an accident", regardless of how many deliberate decisions were made preceeding it (deciding to drink, not having a designated driver, getting into the car, driving away, etc.). I hope the survivors faired well, as sometimes they seem to get it even worse than those who passed away did.

In any case, may they all rest in peace, and the driver rot for his judgement.

Got tears in my eyes right now. I am an EMT... I have seen this kind of thing first hand and it just baffles me every time as to why people still get behind the wheel drunk. What a senseless waste of life.

OMG! Were all those teens in one car? How did the accident happen? I can't imagine having to deal with the loss of five friends instantly at those kids' ages. Must have been tough for their town too. Drunk drivers still get off way too easy.
