MOLOKO - Fun For Me (Live - 11,000 CLICKS DVD RIP)

On the final night of their amazing STATUES tour - which would also prove to be their final night together as a band - MOLOKO's sold-out performance at The Brixton Academy was recorded by director Dave Carruthers and became the basis for their critically adored "11,000 CLICKS" DVD. This is their hit FUN FOR ME from that DVD. MOLOKO has never been properly recognized as the BRILLIANT live band that they were. But one viewing of 11,000 CLICKS will correct that misperception. It is a solid 2 hours of absolutely stunning performance. And if there is ANY justice in this world, Roisin Murphy will become the HUGE star that she deserves to be. Her first solo effort, 2005's amazing RUBY BLUE wasd one giant leap in that direction.

What kind of effect does the bass player use on this tone?

I can't be 100% sure, but I think its the actual bass performance of the other half of MOLOKO (besides Roisin), MARK BRYDON - who is also a brilliant bassist in addition to being the production brain behind MOLOKO. I think his bass line is then run through Eddie Stevens' keyboard synths for that kinda weird, electronic tone

I think the bass and a synthie are playing the same bassline/aka "doubling".

That is the simplest way of getting there. And they are sure thight enough to pull that off.

There are many effects for bass guitar that can achieve a synthie effect. There is an expensive one from boss, I also once had a basspod with a synthie effect.

However, I personally find them hard to conroll on fast basslines.
