Recorded on May 12, 2010... It was James' last evening in Victoria, Cindy decided to stay at home, but she ordered me to get her a chicken souvlaki, light on the onions with Tzaziki sauce and a Greek salad.... Instead of the Greek place, James and I went to a wonderfully healthy Montreal style casse-croute where we had smoked meat and poutine...

  • Its awesome with the smoked meat.

  • It sure is! I went back a couple of weeks ago and it was great!

  • Noo Not La Belle Patate It Is La Belle Provence In Montreal I Know I Live In Montreal And I Am Eating Montreal SmokedMeat

  • LOL La Belle Patate is the closest thing to real out here on Vancouver Island, but I'll be in Montreal soon :)

  • I feel like I'm missing out on something truly wonderful, I've never had this food before. I doubt anything like this exists in Chicago.

I disagree with James though on Youtube's leniency toward partners, I've seen no examples of what he's talking about regarding copyrighted material.

  • I have found variants of smoked meat in New York City and even Los Angeles... Sliced smoked beef brisket on rye bread is an old tradition brought from Europe by Jewish immigrants who settled in Montreal and New York city. If there are any Kosher or New York style delis in Chicago, that's where you will find smoked meat...

Poutine is another animal. It's a French Canadian meal of fries and cheese curds smothered in gravy. It has spread all over Canada. I imagine it should reach Chicago soon LOL

  • Ohh Ok LOL

  • Now that's a good question. I don't know. I know it's sometimes hard to find even in Quebec...

  • spruce beer...wonder if we can get that in Ontario.

  • The potatoes are beautiful just like it says on the sign! The gravy and partially melted cheese curds are to die for! I'm getting all mouth watery thinking about it again!!!
