This video was shot on the afternoon of April 2, 2011 at the Hopson Commissary just outside Clarksdale, Mississippi. Pianist Pinetop Perkins had been buried earlier in the day and the commissary was filled with friends and family, doing their best to keep the spirit of the blues alive.

Singer Mary Ann "Action" Jackson is from Senatobia, northeast of Clarksdale--the hills rather than the Delta--and she is a popular local performer.

  • Very nice stuff. The blues are doing well here. Muddy Guy

  • @UltimateA90 It's 'Big Boss Man' made famous by Jimmy Reed and probably a whole bunch of others too!

She gives it some. Good version!

  • Anyone know what song she is singing?

  • What a energy! Thanks Adam for that video. I think Pinetop would have liked it.
