I congratulate you in making this video and hope that it reaches out far and wide and more info will become available for others :)

  • I believe PDA is on the autism spectrum. The social skills are learned as PDA falls under the high functioning definition of autism. I believe this expression will be uncovered more in HF females. This girls speech pattern is definitely autistic.

  • After this video quite a few videos about PDA popped up. Thankyou.

  • i was taken back on how well you described pda,, i have a little boy aged 11 with pda; its nice to hear someone talkin about pda as its sometimes hard feeling that me and my little boy are alone in this as not many people understand wat pda is!! it can be hard and would love for myself and my son to meet others with pda one day!!

  • PDA individuals do not have good social skills. They are good at demand avoidance. In every other area of social skills they have difficulties (though often milder than regular autism). I have PDA and I struggle a great deal with understanding and relating to NTs.

  • Hello, I have this syndrome as well other learning disabilities and I am also autistic. It has always been really really difficult but over the last few months i hav started to learn to accept my condition for who it makes me and that seems to be making it better. i am lucky to have a few very understanding friends and a wonderful boyfriend. i am 21 years old now so am becoming alot more aware of my condition than i used to be. this video is very good so well done

  • Well done! More information about PDA and forums for families and professionals interested in PDA can be found if you search for pda contact group

  • Well done you. Thank you for helping to raise the profile of PDA. Anything and everything that helps to improve awareness is a job well done.

You have beaten me to it, I've thought of submitting something myself. It would be great if others could build and add to what you have started. The more information available the better. Congratulations for a really good effort.

  • thanks for posting this, I don;t have any experience of PDA either- but attended a talk by elizabeth newsom about 10 years ago (at an autism conference) and her descriptions of the people she had identified with PDA were fascinating (and of course sad) she talked about one female who broke through a glass just to get away from a situation.. that has always stuck in my mind.

  • You know that sounds a hell of a lot like what I have : )
