This is a home-movie homage to our standard poodle, Toby. Toby likes to chase balls, sleep, run around, and get scratched. He does all these in this get-what-you-pay for video. The music is from the wonderful 1996 Crash Test Dummies album "A Worm's Life".
This is a masterpiece. The tension between the two main characters kept me on the edge of my seat, until the tragic denoument in the penultimate scene.
The protagonist subtly develops from an immature, atavistic wretch to a redeemed, ecumenical sage. The cinematography is brilliant, the soundtrack hip, and the performances spot-on.
Observant viewers will note the "Wesleyan" cap on Professor Gastil, who plays Toby's primary male human companion.
