okay, if you drag that box to select a character, and the character's a little off-centered, is there any way to fix that before exporting a font? Thanks in advance :3

All characters have to be positioned after importing. The left and right side bearings may be positive or negative — lowercase j often has a negative left side-bearing, while lowercase f often has a negative right side-bearing. The import process just positions the glyphs starting from 0,0. FontCreator has no idea how you want to design your font. When copying, just make sure you don't crop anything. Extra, unwanted bits can be deleted later.

FontCreator from High-Logic. I think the tutorial was done in version 5.6 — the latest version is now 6.1, which now supports vector import from AI or PDF files. Just drag and drop a load of PDF files (one for each character) into the glyph overview window, and they are imported in sequence (very quickly).
