Both, you can have a map that is 4 + star systems in size, or you can have a battle that occurs in a cramped single star system.

The Ship designs and graphics seem to be familiar to that of the Game "Homeworld". Perhaps based on the same architectural designs?

People complain about the lack of campaign in this game but the makers kind of gave you the ability to make your own story. Use your imagination damn it!
