Aaah I can answer that one. Because an old XF taxi is a low compression, in line 6, effieciant family car engine, where as the xr8 boss V8 are high revving, quad cam, high performance engine. Go tell a Lamborghini owner that you can get better fuel economy in your Datsun 200B Sunny! Yes, you probably can do that, but you are comparing two very different cars...
