Xbox 360 Grinding Noise

What the Hell guys, whats wrong with it, is my 360 going to die???

well about a month or two later after the noise started, i was in the middle of a move (to a new house) and
when i first turned it on it was
a shock that could kill someone if
not readily prepared.
that shock was......
THE RED RINGS OF DEATH!!!
yea no prob though
i was pissed, but yea i sent
the request form and my warranty expired
but thats okay, you know why.
microsoft has put on their website,
IF YOUR XBOX 360 CONSOLE GETS THE THREE FLASHING RED LIGHTS WITHIN THREE YEARS OF PURCHASE, THEN YOUR REPAIR IS FREE.
so yea they send you a prepaid box
and you just gotta put your 360 in the box and drop it off at a UPS dropoff point.
pretty cool, i just sent the 360 back
today, and im hopin to see it come back
in the next week.
**UPDATE**
so i got my 360 back kinda sorta,
they gave me a replacement console,
and they gave me a free month of live.
thats pretty awesome i guess.
so if you get the red rings, ship it
in, dont worry be happy.

we recently got the halo3 edtion xbox360 and does the same thing although we i picked it up earlier i noticed something was loose inside of it i don't believe it was dropped but i don't trust best buy holding stuff

dude 1 ur xbox aint horizontal and then microsoft refuses to repair! 2 this happend to me 6 friggin times! they have send me 4 diffrent console's and its still worse i asked my money back and bought a ps3

yea actually i do put my 360 horizontally, and ive stopped doing that ever since the noise.

then it got the red rings of death and yea

well its been about two weeks, and for some reason my 360 has not made the noise.

like when i turn off my 360, it makes a little bit of the sound but other than that, the sound is gone. im happy though.

a lot of people say its some magnet on top of the dvd drive, that got displaced, and vibrates. iono though just wait it out.

Put your 360 flat on the ground. The noise is your disk on the side of the cd drive

happened to me last week with my new elite i tapped it ab bit strong (accidently) i think its the disk that is humping around a bit or something touching the fans???, just take the game out and make sure the games are inside the nodge when you put them in, well thats how i solved it

Put 3 or more CD time maybe it will help, or put nails or screws in the disc driver, maybe it will help to stop the noise at the same time........breaking your shitbox hahahhahahahhahaa

wen i pt my game in it dosent make a grinding noise it makes like a chattering noise and takes 3 or 4 trys to make it work and wen it dosent it says open tray never sed unplable disc helpppp!!!!!!!!!!

open your xbox and check the fan the fan fucked my xbox up and i fixed it my wire go stuck in the fan and the fan was snagging it like a slut!!
