(Donate at www.fwhopecenter.org) Jeremy Burnett, a homeless man for over 10 years, came to The HOPE Center for food. He heard about their "School of HOPE" who offered GED classes and their need for a math teacher. He came forward to volunteer to help teach math. He was dirty, smelly and didn't have any front teeth, because they had all rotted out. He didn't look like a typical math teacher, but JoAnn Reyes, President of The HOPE Center, tested his skills and found him exceptionally gifted in Math and offered him the volunteer job teaching her GED Students. After working with him for several months, she asked him "Why are you on the street? Why aren't you going to college preparing to teach math?" She encouraged him to apply to attend Texas Wesleyan College and he did. He made one of the highest scores in math in the history of the school. He was accepted, and moved from being homeless to moving into the dorm at TWC. The Star Telegram ran this clip on their website and afterward, a Dentist came forward who gave him implant replacement of his teeth ($25,000) and gave him a new smile. Not only is he continuing his studies with honors, but he has become a motivational speaker encouraging people to never give up HOPE. Contact info: 3625 E.
