A US #1 hit and over a million copies sold. Barks by Joe and Mac (gotta start somewhere!).
Due to a strike by background singers, Patti was produced with overdubs of her own voice to harmonise. It's said she was the first recording artist to do this, and continued the style on many records

  • This is the version I remember, only I think we had it on a 45. I liked the flip side, "My Jealous Eyes," too. Thanks for the nostalgia!

  • Originally released on {American} Mercury 70070.

A famous "Peanuts" strip at the time had Charlie Brown and Snoopy listening to a portable phonograph, hearing the end of a record, with Snoopy jumping up and down. Charlie says, "All right, but just ONCE MORE! That's all!". He starts playing the record again, a broad smile on Snoopy's face. Charlie grimaces, "Three hunded times is enough for ANYONE to listen to 'Doggie in the Window'!".

  • Thank you!

  • Nothing like a good bit o' triv.

    Have a great Christmas!
