"Kevinnn!!" Seven year old Joseph screamed.
He was sitting in the sand at the playground with his eyes shut and tears streaming down his dirty, pale face. Five year old Nicholas was giggling and throowing sand everywhere. The seventeen year old threw his book down on the bench and ran to the rescue.
"Joey, what happened?" Kevin asked while grabbing a water bottle from his backpack.
"H-he th-threw sand at m-m-my face." He managed to stutter out through his cries.
"Okay buddy, I'm going to to need you to tilt your head up and open your eyes the best you can. And Nicholas Jerry Jonas, you know better than to do that.
"Sorry Joey." Nick said, and then hugged Joe. He kept crying though.
"Jospeh Adam Jonas, please listen to me. If you don't want it to hurt anymore, open your eyes. Im gonna pour this water in your eyes.
Joe barely opened his eyes, so Kevin took that chance. He poured the water in Josephs eyes, causing him to scream.
"Joey," Kevin said softly. " You need to keep blinkkiing your eyes"
Thankfully, he obeyed. Finally after what seemed like forever, he could see Joe's hazel eyes.
"Hey bud, how are your eyes now?"
Joseph sniffled.
"B-better." he looked down at Nicholas, who was still hugging Joe.
"Sorry Joey." Nick repeated.
"Its kay Nicky." Joe smiled.
"Let's go home guys."
Kevin picked up the five year old and grabbed Joes hand. The three of them walked to the car. Kevin opened the door and Joe hopped in the car. He set Nick in the booster seat and buckled him up.
"Joseph, booster seat now, please." kevin ordered.
Joseph sighed and sat in it, as Kevin did the seatbelt around him.
"All set guys," Kevin smiled. "I love you guys, I hope you both now that.
"I wuv you too Kevy." Joe said with his thumb in is mouth. He held out his arms to hug Kevin, as did Nick. Kevin smiled bigger.
"Time to hit the road guys," Kevin hopped in the front seat and started the car. " So, you guys wanna sing a s-" he was cut off by a car crashing into the passengers side of the car. It flipped over 3...4 times till it was upside down. Then it stoppped, and everything was silent.
"Uhhh..." Kevin groaned. He was bleeding in several different places. But he forgot all about that until he saw the horrifying site behin him. Kevin shakily undid his seatbelt, and fell to the ground. He howled in pain, and pulled out a big, sharp piece of glass out of his knee. But he kept crawling.
"Joey...Nicky." His voice cracked. "Guys, please answer me...guys....GUYS!!" he unbuckled their seat belts and held them close. Suddenly he heard sirens, but he blacked out.
BEEP.....BEEP....BEEP...
Kevin jolted upright in his bed. He sheilded his eyes from the bright light. He was in the hospital. Flowers were everywhere. In the corner was his parents, talking. But they stopped abruptly when they saw him.
"Oh baby!! Kevin dear!!" Denise rushed over and hugged him.
"Mom!" he yelled, half in pain, half in happiness.
"Paul Kevin Jonas II! You scared us. I can't believe that this happened!" Paul Sr. said, reilieved.
"Where...where's Joseph and Nicholas?"
Silence.
"Where are they?!?!" Kevins voice filled with panic.
"Son...the doctore said they might not have a chance."
Denise broke down in fresh tears.
"What room?"
"No. Now Kevin, your not thinking clearly.."
Kevin didn't care. He ripped the IV's out of his arm. He winced, but he just hopped off the bed and ran. His dad was yelling at him to come back. Kevin wandered the halls clutching his arm. He looked through every windowtill he saqw two young boys laying down on the white beds. He covered his mouth with his hand, to stop him from crying out.
He shakily walked in the room. It was silent exccept for the beeping of the heart monitors. Kevin walked in the middle of the two beds. Nicholas looked so peaceful, with is hair matted down. He looked over at Joseph's bed. He was whimpering in his coma. Which meant he was dreaming, which was a good sign.
Kevin pulled up a chair. He sat there and started singing to himself. After a few minutes, Kevin fell asleep. Right next to his brothers.
