With my large, slow flying wing, and Rotax503 Fiti trike, I take off and land in my own 30x50m backyard in southern France. Precision landings, eh?
For the performances of that trike : The wing in this film is a Cosmos Magnum, 21m². The trike weighs perhaps 75kgs with a Rotax 503 motor ( and the wing weighs another 50kgs) I weigh 85kgs.
Minimum controllable flying speed ( just above stall speed) 34km/hr. Cruising speed 55 - 60kms/hr. Top speed 75km/hr. I have since replaced the wing with a 20m² Kora single surface wing, more efficiant than the Magnum. And the Rotax 503 is too much hp for a single seat trike, I will replace it with a Rotax 277, and then be able to thermal soar, engine off.
looks like no room for ,,,,a oh no! g/j btw

@dozerdriver1962 Well, now I land in a diagonal approach on this field, so there is more room. But in this clip ( which was the first ever time I landed in my back yard), there was a slight downwind componant even! I did manage to stop just before the tree. Good brakes.

This is how the old adage came about . . .
Old Pilots
Bold Pilots
but NO Old and Bold Pilots! !

Well, how 'bout Chuck Yaeger, for example? Let's put "skilled pilots" into the equation ; personally, I've been flying HGs since 1974. Pretty old.
