whats up Dustin.. Can I do this with the dirt and then add a layer of "Pool Filtration Sand" on top of it for planting the plants? would that be good? I have gravel but I kinda wanna do the sand.. what do you think?

im all about the fish and not about the plats CICHLIDS are the way to go no need for the plants what was that no oxygen thats what air pumps are for ba ha haaa sure your tank will look great man just saying i like the fish more. P.S. you fingered the substrate more than one time and i seen that finger pass by you nose more than one time haha jk man great job.

You know you love Aquarium Keeping when you finger the substrate.

@TheHasheem any organic dirt works fine with no fertilizer
-
@KETIMENE probably cuz it looks better with just gravel in the front

hey buddy can u please tell me what kind of dirt is that
Can you show us what you capped it with?
I have a sand cap one that is doing good but I'm nervous about no water flow or oxygen getting to the soil. I'm thinking about trying a gravel cap next.
