@queerp well, getting inspirations from songs is a common method. its actually can be considered ripping off, but its alright since they actually created a different feel.. thats what green day probably did, but im sure majority of artists has done that b4

@GreenDaysummerify pretty sure you're wrong there bud. sure they probably don't listen to Petula Clark, but her song was super famous back in the day. So Green Day has definitely heard it before. It may have just been subconscious; however, Green Day has ripped off a few bands before. So either Billie goes out of his way to rip off artists or he has a problem of letting his subconscious affect his music.
