Leading up to California's historic vote to tax and control marijuana, Drug Policy Action is running ads on Los Angeles urban radio stations urging African American and Latino listeners to vote yes on Prop. 19.
Boldly honest advertising speaking to the truth of the issue on how the cannabis persecution laws are used to harass specific groups of people. Cannabis is undeniably non-toxic (no overdoses even from the most highly concentrated hashes) and non-physically addictive (coffee is harder to get off). Cannabis persecution was never about public safety; it was from the beginning and still is, an excuse to harass specific groups viewed as threats: people of color and peace activists. Time to stand up!
