I'm going to buy your books but was wondering what gauge strings you are using? I have a tenor that I put a low G string and it sounds like your baritone. But I'd like to get a baritone, so should I get a tenor set for it? Looks like you are using nylon guitar strings? What brand or combination would you recommend. Thanks for your lessons. It's been super fun playing these standards.

String recommendations for Bari with Low G Aquila GCDA (concert) strings made for Bari tensions . I use that Aquila GCDA set that comes with a high G but I put them on in order of thickness

thus giving me a low G with the thickest string included in the set. you can buy a special Log G and toss the high G included in the set and have an even fatter G string. or just put a guitar wound string on instead.

this is great but i do have one complaint... see i clicked on this thinking you were playing regular ukulele..baritone uke is completely diffrent..and putting regular strings on it and tuning it with a low G string is basically like playing a regular baritone but tuned in a diffrent key

Wonderful tutorial!....Just bought your "Jazzy Ukulele" book, but my uke will be arriving today in the mail sometimes. My very first step will be to try and tune it up properly.

But, I"m confused as to the line up of the strings. You say place them in order of "thickness". Would that be GCDA?....or am I wrong?... I guess I should really post this question at your website. Okay, looking forward to seeing if I can make some good ukulele sense.

Rootless voicings don't work on the tonic chord when you don't have a bass player! Especially if you are going to voice the 6 and 9. You are weakening the harmony with stacked 4ths like that. Just bar the 3rd fret!
