  • The weight issue I think is misleading there is no woight savings!!! You do gain some advantage in profile, but no one has been able to answer the new question and that is how does a firefighter that falls on his back gets back up!!!! When you do fall on your back you are completely flat on the ground and you will not be able to roll on your side. The problem of being longer is a huge issue.

  • @IAFF1365 Thanks for the feedback. Those are some great points. We will be showing a revised version that is 4" shorter at this year's FDIC. Stop by and let us know what you think if you are at the show!

  • As a firefighter i feel that this would actually be more bulky , and space consuming than my regular scott pack

  • @Splintermvp13 Thanks for the feedback and interest in the project. Right now, this is just in the prototype stage, which means we can make changes based on feedback from firefighters like you. If you wouldn't mind, we'd like to hear more of your ideas. Please take our survey at msanet[dot]com/iaff. Stay safe!

  • @ the guy talking about getting up from your back..

How do you get out of bed in the morning? Does your wife pull you out?

I can't see it being hard at all to get up from laying flat on this. Unless maybe I was completely out of shape and had a busted ass

  • @msasafety Well some of the things that come to mind for me would be to make the shoulder straps slimmer due to the fact that some of the tool i use have big enough straps so getting those smaller would help out a lot; i also think that instead of having a line of five tubes maybe two or three would be much better, the overall design and idea os good, but i think with some changes it could be a very good product
