I read that Tom's first wife had custody of their  two kids when they were young, and the kids lived with Tom and Rita on weekends.

Rita wilson went into a boutique in hollywood and asked the assistant to put the dress aside for a few weeks as she wanted to wear it to a ceremony. The weeks went by and she didnt come back so the girl put it onto the shop floor and it sold. Then rita wilson came back into the shop looking for the dress. When she found out that it had been sold, she demanded that the assistant be fired. The assistant was fired.

@JillR95 Oh i'm sorry to hear about her death. I think Tom's kids are very lucky to have Rita as their stepmother. I'm certain that over the years Rita has grown to love them as her own. She's quite special! She is the real deal! Down to earth and treats everyone with respect. I will always adore Rita Wilson!

Unfortunately, Tom's first wife passed away years after the divorce. I agree though, what went on between her and Tom was no one's buisness but theirs. IMHO most aspects to any celebrity's life should also be kept out of the press- they're human beings too, after all! OK, I'll get off my soapbox now- lol

@tealeoniisabitch Nobody knows what went on except Tom and his ex-wife. I'm certain she has moved on and gotten over it it was over 20 years ago. The kids are adults. If you ever met Rita Wilson in person and had a conversation no matter how brief there is no way you could hate her. Rita never met a stranger! She could buy any resturant and the entire staff and the customers that Tom and Rita eat at with ease. But she is always very polite and down to earth. She goes out of her way to be kind.
