Hard to believe but I actually knew a woman years ago who was just like Helen Wright, Joan Crawford's character. She too had lots of money and also smoked and drank far too much. People like that really existed years ago. Maybe this is one reason I love Humoresque so much, because I can personally relate to it. I also love the movie for the wonderful music and the performances of John Garfield and Oscar Levant. Ever notice the relationship of those two in the movie. It was implied, but obvious.
