This is a video of my first NASTAR race at Cascade Mountain on Ptamargin run. From 1-3 PM on Sun. Jan 8th, 2012 Cascade & NASTAR let the public ski down this run and record all race times (times submitted on www.nastar.com). A pacesetter skis the course (or a similar course at a different resort) twice, once in a coat and again in a racing suit. Any skier who participates in the race but does not beat the pacesetter's time is assigned a handicap based on age and gender. Platinum, gold, silver and bronze medals are assigned based on how the skier fares against other skiers of the same gender and age range.
Nice run! Be careful, though - NASTAR is addictive :)
