A few problems.

Pigs become feral and destroy habitats killing thousands of animals once released.

Chickens cannot live on their own due to predators.

Due to the low population of predators in the US animal populations would exceed carrying capacity which leads to disease and starvation for the entire population of animals. The only solution is to hunt or increase predator numbers. I find it more human to shoot an animal than allow a wolf to rip it apart while still alive.
