If you are paying insurance then your money is also good enough to pay for somebody else's policy so the difference is the same.

We can all access Military health care - just join the military.
Otherwise stop trying to get something (government run health care) for nothing (just make someone else pay for it).

I have been in the service (USMC) and I can honestly say that it is not "first rate". That is a load of bullshit. We had to go off base to get health care because the dumbasses at the BAS missed diagnosed all kinds of shit. Yeah they can sow you up when you catch a bullet but other than that they are not anywhere near "the finest money can buy". They fucking hand out some pain killers and call it a day.

I think we should give all of our money to these INSURANCE groups and help them get more money and there pocket's. Who CARE'S about you people I have money so I don't need a public option I like to see people suffer because they can't get medical attention because of our system is really f'd up. People take out your money and give it to the insurance companies if you were smart you all would know that the public option would help as far as getting better rates from health care you have now.

I think his argument is more toward the fact that the Government CAN run a health care system...and a very good one at that.

There's a difference between running a health system for the military versus running one for the entire country.

Sure.

But how can one be so sure it will fail, if government can run a health system for the military?

You never know unless you try.

"You never know unless you try," is never an argument for shifting an entire nation into something. The military health system is nothing more than a massive employee benefit given to those who have worked hard for it. Also, it doesn't impose on insurance companies a "turn no one away" policy. By doing that, no one will ever pay for insurance until they need care, removing the risk pool that those who are sick are treated with.

This is a suicidal idea.

I love the fact that conservatives don't mind dumping billions of dollars into Haliburton and a bogus war but flip out when the idea of universal health care arises...
