US Drug Czar speaks against Proposal One

The United States Drug Czar and Michigan native John Walters held a press conference on Oct. 15, 2008 with local law enforcement officials to voice his opposition to Proposal 1, which would allow the use of medical marijuana in Michigan.

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from opposition; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach himself.

Any society that will give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

It doesn't matter whether you think drugs are good or bad. If you want the right to make your own life decisions, then you must protect others' rights to do the same.
