Great video. I've got a Wartburg 353 in my workshop, it had a engine rebuild 15 years ago but has not been started since(Maybe I should do someting with it). I personaly prefer the two stroke models, I recon that the vw engine was a major step backward, but thats only how I personaly feel about it.

Das ist ein Auto ja sicherlich so ne Scheisse sind auch nur die Ossis gefahren.... Westdeutsche Müll was meinst du denn damit zb Merzedes Benz??? Herr Daimler hat das Auto erfunden du Spasst.... Das kann mandoch nicht mit West Autos vergleichen. Das sind Welten aber in eurer tollen DDR gab es ja nichts anderes

My family had a Knight Tourist (estate) when I was a child, dark green. It was even then a heap, but my goodness what a car. What it was put through was unbelievable and hardly ever went wrong although after we'd had it 3 years, by then 6 years old, it was falling to bits. Yet it also looked modern compared to others and standard equipment seemed better too. Shall never forget that car.

Isn't the first music Why Do You Have to be a Heart Breaker? Dionne Warwick wasn't it?

This cars had very soft suspension. My father told me that my uncle who owned Wartburg in the 80's and liked to drive fast, used to put sanbags into the boot to increase stability. As for a two stroke engine it was quite reliable car tho, ulike polish Syrena 105(you had to spend a week in the garage to drive to church on sunday)
