In the first of this epic three-parter, we dive straight into the goods at Beer Fest 2009, armed to the teeth with cheap lanyards and 4-ounce plastic beer glasses. Notables include Bavik Brewery's Wittekerke Wit and Rose, Phillips Brewery's Longboat Double Chocolate Porter and Elysian Brewing's Night Owl Pumpkin Ale!

Ah... have you been to the festival?

We have never been refused service with more than one glass.

I bet you're real fun at parties you party pooper.

  • @scorp8pus

That's not how the festival works. You get one glass per ticket. It's frowned upon serving someone with two glasses.

It's unfortunate but true.... far too many crap beers at this festival.... I've poured more on the grass than I have drank there.

But each to their own I guess.

Personally I love Phillips Pale Ale!

These guys are amateurs... only one glass of beer each..... they have beer straps... no excuse to have less than 3 glasses of beer each.... one in each hand and one around the neck!

  • Too bad you guys dis so many great beers!

  • It's the biggest craft-only beer festival in Canada!

Descriptive vocabulary is limited ... but the dude in blue is cool.

  • Pretty good selection for a smaller festival!
