Well yes. Sometimes it is easier said than done. I imagine that both of them shared ideas in order their work could be the best as possible. I think that has been proven on every project both Dirk and Joe made. Once again I do thank you for this. Huggss:D

Dirk Bogarde always used to say that Joseph Losey was a director who never told actors/actresses what to do; he always told them what NOT to do. Which it's an entire and true different thing. That's the reason Dirk liked a lot teaming up with him regardless Joe Losey was a very very demanding director, which Dirk also liked a lot as well whenever he and Joseph worked together.
Thank you so much Aplantage for this gem:)

@JaliscoDeOjosHazel I read other actors say that too, but I doubt that he was really that dogmatic in practice, because I don't believe that that works. However he did it, he certainly got some of the greatest performances out of fine actors.

I enjoyed seeing the principals discussing this disquieting but beautifully done film. The Dirk Bogarde remark that "I was the Dorothy Lamour of Pinewood..." was also priceless. I wish we could see this documentary in the States.
Thanks, aplantage.

@larkascending66 You're welcome! Since Bogarde is talking about being photographed in profile, I wonder if he meant Claudette Colbert? I adore this film. I also posted the trailer ...
