Trip to Ribeirão Preto (Rod Anhanguera SP-330)

Trip to Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo... Started recording on Rodovia Anhanguera about 100km from this city... Speed traps are very comon on this part especially...

It's been more than a year since I've seen a Police Officer using radar on the Highway and stoping drivers... You'll see my V1 comming off somewhere in the begining of the video... In Brazil speed measuring is mostly done with laser now, and also a new optical device that measures the car speed based on how fast you go past two or more lenses pointed across the road... You'll see one of that on the video too...

xande, no site da ENGEBRAS eles só listam um único modelo para esse "radar" ótico: "RIT M 300"... mas não sei te dizer se o do vídeo é o mesmo...

Essa tecnologia foi desenvolvida por empresas aqui do Brasil, uma dessas empresas chama-se ENGEBRAS... A maioria dos radares moveis aqui no Brasil usam laser, mas no interior de São Paulo e Minas Gerais eles estão usando estes também... do you have any more info on these optical speed traps? In Brasilia they only seem to have the fixed style -- Just trying to figure out how the optical ones work -- i've never seen them before.
