Here's a look at a very well done tag team fighting game from Atlus. This game originally came out in the arcade for the Sega ST-V system and was ported to the Saturn soon after. It's the fourth game in the Gouketsuji/Power Instinct series and the only one with actual tag team style gameplay. The game needs the HSS-0150 1MB RAM cart to run and came in both a box set with disc and RAM cart or just a disc. The graphics are pretty good save the backgrounds being a little bland. The control is tight and responsive. Each character has a good number of moves and overall this is a very enjoyable fighting game.

  • looks straight, but the load time is horrendous...

  • @TheRyux That's the main downside to CD based systems, if you mind the load times there's always the STV version.

  • This looks like a great fighting game! Fluid animation and I like how the other characters are watching in the background. Awesome!

  • Yeah, tag team fighters are pretty rare in the grand scheme of things. The only other ones that come to mind where the partner is watching in the background are The King of Fighters games and Kizuna Encounter.
