Now what I want to know, have you always jumped back? or did you start jumping back because your favorite lifters do it?
-
@dehwang BOEVSKI - BULGARIA WOOOOHOOOO !!! :)
and hell yeah ... ur right ... a lot of weighlifters jump back ;)

how much you weight and how much you lift, i lift for over 2 year and i weight 69 kilos ,i lift 95 kilos snatch and 125 kilos clean and yerk- but i always tend to jump back, i think is because i pull back its given me a hard time to get 100kilos snatch because of that im very unstable

At least if you drop it, you won't end up in your neighbour's apartment downstairs.

just kidding. chinese are pretty strong in general i wish i could snatch like that
I wouldnt jump back if you ever want to snatch big weights you compromise a long shoulder pull which you will need

I believe jumping back is valid. By the end of the body-extension, you want to be applying force on the bar that is straight up. To do so, you have to apply force on the athlete-barbell system that is up and a little backward. Hence the backward displacement.
Many of the greatest lifters in the world jump have a very pronounced backwards jump: e.g. Suleymanoglu, Boevski, Zhang Guozheng, Shi Zhiyong, Le Maosheng, Ding Meiyuan, Vanev, Huster, Sabanis, etc. See my video "Lifters who jump back".
