@ThePelletgunman IMO yes but just make sure its the wood pigeon you eat and not the dirty feral, woodys have a white stripe on each wing, they are very much like beef steak but with a gamey taste.

@ARCEYE78 see i came from the usa to the uk and every one always said pigeon as a like flying rats do u think they are better to eat then a phesent

@ThePelletgunman No probs,I very much doubt it,even to get permission to shoot pests can be a mission,im lucky the ones that live on the farm where i live are wild & owned by nobody,i no longer shoot them as i have gone off the taste but still often dodge them driving along the road in and out :),to be honest for me wood pigeon is the best tasting & a far more difficult bird to shoot so a great challenge, get your BASC insurance, dress smart, get onto some farms and have a chat with the owner.

@ARCEYE78 thanks for all the info so i am probly not going to get permision to shot them on someones land

@ThePelletgunman Its not illegal to shoot pheasant but it is frowned upon for some reason, toffs dont like to see it & believe it to be anfair / not sporting although im not sure whats sporting about scareing em out of the woods with beaters for the waiting crowd of shotguns :/, just as long as you are a good shot & imo go for the head then like this one will go down very humainly,& make sure they are wild and not owned,i used my fenman .22 12ft/lb although i dont anymore as i prefer woodys :)

give em to your kids.....christmas. priceless
Awesome video, well explained. My first pheasant has been hanging in the shed for 2 days now so i think it's time to get it prepped. Would have been great to see a demonstration of gutting or filleting.
Thanks man.

@marpocalypse Thankyou & glad it helped,to be honest I stopped gutting them and instead just removed the meat as the bad internal smell got infused into the meat, now for some thats part of the taste but the mrs went off it as she hated the smell when I gutted them so by just removing the meat and then pot roast / cook as normal you get less tainted meat, try gypsy style pot roast, google it for recipe and cook it up,imo the best dish for pheasant :)
