Im Reanna and Im 13. (Im the one with the really curly brown/red/black hair). I only have 10 months of movie making experience, so yeah. My main account is
youtube.com/tokiohoteluvr483 i have another adoptee protest video up on that account :)

On July 21, 2009 adoptee rights supporters met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was raining outside, but that didnt stop a lot of people for coming out and standing up for what is right. We met around 10:30 and then we marched together to the Convention Center.

Why are we fighting? Adoptees cannot get their truth.
This is my personal experience and point of view on adoptee rights:

Anyway, my mom is an adoptee and will never stop fighting for their rights. Right now, adoptees have raised-seal birth certificates stating that the information give in true. In fact, the information can be very wrong. The parents given on the birth certificate are the adopted parents names. The birthdate can also be amended and be given as true on the birth certificate. Could you imagine celebrating your birthday on the wrong day for all your life?
Some adoptees have happier endings and are able to reach out to their birthmothers and those birthmothers accept them with open arms. Others try to reach out to their birthmothers and those birthmothers push them further away then they already are. And still some people do not know that they are adopted. People are 43 and still do not know that they are adopted, or they just found out.
People have been trying to get adoptees their birth certificates for decades. They have tried, and tried, and tried some more. Every time they try to get the birth certificates, they always get denied. Why? Because they are adoptees. Discrimination against adoptees rights should not be a part of todays society. We do not discriminate against race or gender. Why should we discriminate against adoptees then?
Adoptees deserve the truth. All other people have their truth written on their birth certificate. Adoptees are just people too. Why should they have their truth denied? Because their mother didnt want them at the time? Not being able to access your truth alone can form you as someone else. If you dont know that you are adopted, you will probably always think that the people who raised you were the people who created you. You got your birth certificate, why cant adoptees have theirs?
Are you adopted? No.
Are you sure? No.

And yes, that was written by me. =]

  • Did your mother ever find her birth mother? I'm looking for my daughter born in Philadelphia October,1969.

  • great great job most natural moms wanted their children more than anything and were very very lied to. Some natural moms were so abused by the system, they can't say this, but you can almost be positive you were wanted!

  • I was born January 1946 in Philadelphia, PA and I have the File No. of my redone birth certificate giving my adopted parents. All my life I wanted my copy of an Original Birth Certificate. Nothing more but more would be welcome indeed. I know my birth name.

  • I am an adoption search angel volunteer, I help many adoptee daily some with good endings some with not so good but they all deserve to know where they came from, Its their RIGHT! PS love the video good job :)

  • This is soo sad .

  • You did a really great job.

  • I cry every time I see this.

  • Reanna, this is fantastic!!! I love what you wrote in the description, too, especially, "Not being able to access your truth alone can form you as someone else." Keep up the good work!

@ Carol: great signature--"...and nothing bad happened." :-D

  • Reanna, this is incredible. You hava a natural talent that will help spread the word to those in the dark. Keep at it! There is nothing in this world like seeing your OBC. It tells a story like no other.
