Sibelius notation version. The 3rd of a 3 movement piece following a visit to the birthplace of Mozart in 2000. If you followed my notes on the previous two versions, you'll have a more complete picture. By the 3rd movement, I've pretty much left Mozart altogether and went out on my own, yet keeping it tonal and accessible in tonality. Probably the rhythms (syncopations in the Trio especially) earmark it as a Daniel Léo Simpson composition. For me, this piece totally slays. Next, I'll working on posting the same piece but instead of piano solo, it is the same piece with string orchestra - in order to keep from confusing the titles, I title the piano solo as "Salzburg Sonata" and the piano/orchestra arrangement as "Souvenir of Salzburg". Now, The Music Animation Machine of this movement, then on to the concerrto version...November 14, 2009

  • This is a beautiful, heartfelt greeting over some centurie's distance to Wolfgang Amadé, isn't it? You really know the languages, Daniel Léo, even that of Mozart! Such a wonderful piece of music, I just can't say more.

  • Great piece of music! Beautiful!

  • I perceive a great musical intelligence in your writing.

You have the instruments to write and know how write what you think and feel.

    Kind regards,
