"you're not using the proper scale"

I used to get "you're not playing your taorluath properly" I used to shut them up by saying "shut it! Calum Ferguson(long since gone to the pipers rest in the sky) taught me my taorluath". You sounded great to me.Keep it up.

@73380401 Yea Thanks dude, some people just don't get it. On a practice chanter, you couldn't "not [use] the proper scale" if you wanted to, there's simply only one scale. Only on the bagpipes when you have a strong reed could you possible play a different scale, but most bagpipers don't even know how to do it.

Hey I am learning to play a the bagpipes too, i am on Scots wha hae and amazing grace.. I like pumkins fancy I was wondering where u find the song sheet for that?

Alright, make sure you don't jump right into learning hornpipes though or you'll ruin your ability to play advanced stuff. You need to work your way up slowly.

Hahaha "you're not using the proper scale", thatd probably take even more talent, unless it false fingering but thats dumb. Pumpkins Fancy is one of my favorites. I just got back from a pipe camp with Sandy Jones and I learned this song while there and have played it a lot since then haha.
