Amateyr boxing is a completely different sport to the pro game, now espec. In Stevenson's day and earlier, there didn't seem to be so much interference from refs with their Stop, fiddling about with hankies or whatnot, then Box commands. The headgear! The bent scoring, where you see a guy land 2-3 good punches and the point goes to his opponent. I know why it was introduced, but it's not working, imo. Judging by the quality of pro boxing at the moment, they all might as well stay amateur.

@Christofides1 He's cuban . Cuban fighters are only allowed to fight as amatures , thats the law in their country . Which means that the world has been deprived of some of the greatest boxers ever . Felix Savon is just another in a long line of Cuban boxers that had the talent to be a world champion .
