@willy93billy If the car had regular street tires on they would most likely spin like crazy and the car wouldn't launch as quicly or lift the front tires. Drag cars use special tires on the rear called slicks. They have an extremely soft rubber tread with a soft side wall. When these tires are heated by a burnout they basically become sticky and this, combined with the sidewalls ability to wrinkle, allows the tire to grip, thereby reducing/eliminating wheel spin.
