Holy Lord... I am late to this game, but please don't hate me... I felt so compelled to comment after witnessing Astrea's plight.. She tries to persuade the hero from retracting in his quest of "slaying" demons... For a final boss to persuade rather than fight is puzzling to me.

This game is so much more than meets the eye... and it's much more than just mindlessly slaughtering characters.

Actually if you play through the DLC before facing Sif and you free him in Oolacile Sif doesn't fight you to kill you or simply protect Artorias' grave.

He fights you so he could fall by the same hand as his master did and because he don't want you to have the Abyss ring.

He fears you may fall to the same corruption of the Abyss as Artorias, and refuse to let you suffer the same fate so he draws Artorias' sword in regret wishing you'd just walk away.

Astrea was a corrupted bishop that dragged her poor lover into that world's version of hell. If she did any good the player sure doesn't see it. I feel much more sympathy for Sif

MEANWHILE ASTREA WAS A MAIDEN HELPING THE SICK, WHO HAD FUCKING LOST GOD AND LITERALLY BEGGED FOR YOU TO LEAVE, AND COMMITS SUICIDE UPON HER BODYGUARD AND FRIEND'S DEATH.
