Demo of an analog audio mixer built from scratch for our senior design project at UT. This demo consists of a Cubase session playing "Remember the Name" by Fort Minor. Four different tracks from that session are being sent through the four channels of the mixer. Vocals are on channel 1, Acoustic Strings on channel 2, Percussion and Rhythm section on channel 3, and Bass/Kick on channel 4.

  • say man... how did u elminate the vocals and kept the drums? is it the mixer or the software?

  • The vocals and drums were each on their own separate channel of the mixer. From their we can apply audio input gain, EQ, volume control, and mute for each channel. In this case, we "eliminated" the vocals by just simply muting the channel that the vocal was on. But all the other channels would still be playing since they were not muted.

  • awesome! love the transparent case.

how did you get the multiple tracks for remember the name??

  • The tracks came from an online mixing contest. You can still get the tracks by just googling "remember the name mixing contest". The site is ccmixter.

  • Very cool guys, congrats for doing it analog! I love your clear plastic case, that's a good way to attract attention to your project. Did you get good marks? Keep on dudes!

  • Thanks. We got a lot of good remarks for this project... including getting 1st place out of all the other design projects in the EE department.
