I decided to get a zero at 300 yards with the Winchester. I really do love shooting that rifle!

It was kinda cold out there, 32ºF; so I kept the bullet in my pocket until I was ready to shoot. (I'm using summer load ammo.) It was more of a light rain heavy mist so it was a little hard to focus.

I think I will go for a zero at 200 with the Winchester tomorrow. Who do you know that starts their scope zeroing at 400 yards then works their way down? :P

  • Thanks to those that I hadn't seen their comments until now... I would hate to bother you just to say thank you so belated.

  • How did you mount that scope the 94 is a top ejector

  • @lilblitz It is an "angle eject;" it is drilled and tapped to accept a scope.

  • you runined its beuty with that scope...

  • @rubbindubbin4life "besides with a 30 30 round,after 300 yards it dramatically starts loosing its stopping power.."

"Stopping power" is what you use against dangerous game or assailants; you need enough destruction the threat is eliminated. I'll assume you're talking about dangerous game like say, grizzly. The 30-30 "dramatically starts loosing[sic] its stopping power" at less than 50 yards.

It is obvious that you're not firearms savvy.

  • @lj2justgoto what do you believe the effective range is, and at what range do you think it turns into 'harrasing fire'.

  • Damn people are all full of opinions on other peoples videos huh?

I have a .30-.30 Marlin with only a few round thru that I'm going to take and sight in this weekend using the iron sights. I'll sight in at 100 which is what I typically do with iron sights...that works for me anyway. I was surprised just how far off these sights were out of the box and I didn't have enough time or ammo or a good rest to sight in so this weekend it should be spot on.

    Oh nice shot BTW!

  • Jesus leave the damn guy alone. He shoots what he shoots and it works for him.I rarely talk to or with anyone about firearms because everyone is already an expert knowing all there is to know.Someone always has to be bigger and have or do better.Shoot on sir,I love your vids.

  • @lj2justgoto 30/30 will stop pretty much anything in north america out to 300 yards if you can hit it,it has the same stopping power as a .44mag at that distance, maybe a little less.

  • yeah, I have a scope on mine. I got it for Christmas when I was 9 years old, and have killed many deer with it. Although I prefer the 30-30 without the scope, I cannot justify taking my scope off. It is a tough choice. For me, since the 30-30 is currently my only deer rifle, I cannot justify taking off a scope that has helped me make precise shots at 100 yards. If I had another gun, (like a bolt action 30-06) I would ditch the scope in a heart beat and rock just the iron sights.

  • @rubbindubbin4life Also, how ridiculous your temper tantrum is!

""im the man who can shoot a still object at 300 yards.,.(oh wait kill shots...oooh) "

a.) I suppose you shoot at running deer at 300 yards? From your display of ethics here, I think you would.

b.) You are the one that brought 'stopping power' into the conversation. You were all for equating this video with dangerous charging animals. Now you are balking at the idea of hitting a "kill" zoned size target at 300 yards in one shot.

  • @rubbindubbin4life "theres more things to brag about..then"

LOL! From a guy who comes here telling me that I'm doing it wrong.

'a dipshit who brags..ur like "Every gun I shoot I know exactly what the "effective range is"'

Predictable. Instead of applying yourself and searching for the information yourself; you chastise me for having a brain so much larger than yours. GET A CLUE KID!
