I end this session with by far my greatest Gen play to date. I actually managed to string together a few combos and pull off some lovely finishes. Enjoy!

These were my first games with the Sanwa GT-Y installed and you can see the difference already in my gameplay. I was able to execute moves with a greater rate of success which led to my being able to play with greater confidence. This session was recorded less than 12hours after fighting sedg87 (previous videos)

With a higher rate of successful move execution I can now build up my Gen and hopefully master the character. I've already compiled a frame-rate excel data sheet (OHT style) which I hope will help me figure out "combos" for Gen.

If you have any tips for Gen combos, particularly good "footsies" then please do share them with me via the comment section. :)

Many games were played during this session against Raikage and I can confirm that I didnt win a single match. However, I came much closer to doing so because of the newly installed brand new Sanwa GT-Y restrictor gate.

  • Congrats with the GT-Y instillation, I did the same with my TE Round 2, it's like night and day, I also installed a spring inside the joystick for some added stiffness, Out the box I find the TE too sensitive.

  • TE Round 2? I'm gonna have to google that to see if thats a stick i don't know about or something.

How did you go about finding a 'spring'. Is there one on GremlinSolutions dotKoDotUK for the sanwa TE fight stick?

Furthermore, I can't understand why some people would want more 'stiffness'. No wonder some people prefer the SquareGate.

If anything I enjoy the extra precision the GT-Y brings to the table :)

Probably another reason why I prefer the sanwa ball to the happ competition bat-stick.

  • Yes it's the all black Madcatz TE stick. I bought it at a Ebgames here in Toronto-Canada. Check lizardlick . c o m for the springs , it's not as stiff as u might think, Plus they have a variety of springs to choose from.

The stick is basically the same I just got a adapter and switch the ball top to a bat-top. and change the gate to GT-Y Octagonal. grew up on american style sticks thats why i did it. Ultras and supers come out with ease now. Ryu-Gen-Chun-Honda
