  • why don't you understand that it is not nessesary to do this.....it's not natural. Rats can clean themselves AND if you keep them right, they don't get dirty... my rats have special ground to dig holes and there still is no need... even the VET's here know that it's not good for them...only in America people seem to be to ignorant to notice that this is animal abuse... and rats do like water... if they can explore it on there own...

  • @Darkmausi So the fact that when we had him out, and he got covered in dust from under some furnature, I should have left him alone? The reason for illness after receiving a bath is that people don't take the time to dry them. That would be like you wearing you clothes soaking wet untill they dried. Yeah that could cause a cold. Mind you he ever got sick. I'm curious what exactly your vets are telling you, specifically why they say it's "abuse" I just don't buy it.

  • do all rats have those two huge balls?

  • @akamaster09 are you serious? so ure asking do all rats have testicals? no not all rats do because if they dont they are prolly a girl

  • don't get worked up, he might have been being sarcastic... he might have meant "are all rat testicles so HUGE?" either way some vet offices do offer a rat neutering procedure for way too much money.

  • @akamaster09 Males, ofcourse. Keep in mind some offices offer a neuter procedure now for about $600.

  • Really? You people are ill-informed. Predominantly white rats can have fur staining, causing the fur to become a dingey yellow color. It also makes their fur feel slightly sticky, so they NEED a water bath every now and again.

And all you Nim wits pointing out " Its trying to get away! Its suffering!"

You havent owned a cat or dog have you?

All my dogs beside one HATE getting baths and always try to climb out of the tub.

    Cats are even worse.

Get brains. Beautiful ratty Btw!! :]]

  • what a cutie!

  • can rats swim?

  • Its actually better to neuter there for like 100 bucks cuz when they get older they have a nice chance of tumors and it will cost bout $700 to do surgery to remove them but that will leave u broke and your rat stressed!

  • @akamaster09 Yes cuz they are boys

  • @akamaster09 They have huge balls. Kind of shocking when you've never seen one before.

  • Go right on ahead and give your rat a bath. Like you said, it will not give him a cold unless you leave hime wet. The only other thing that could be bad is if you over bathe him. . . it could dry out his skin. I suspect you know what you are doing. Good for you for cleaning all of that dust off of him. The dust itself could cause an upper respiratory infection.

  • @TooManySnakes I dont understand why people are saying giving a rat a bath is abuse lol, its neccesary if your rat gets sticky, or dirty, and needs help cleaning it off :P

  • hes adorable!

  • he is to cut :')

  • aw. :( i miss my rats.
