  • Are the amounts/quantities located anywhere, or is it to taste?

  • @lupine73 I find after a few hours you may desire to add a bit more of something. Usually salt, cumin or more peppers. Should be a comment below with the basic measurements. cheers! KtC

  • that looks good

  • @CamaraMountClamp A real favourite around here. I usually make a batch every couple of months and keep a bit in the freezer for a quick heat up. Thank you and have a great day! KtC

  • @profd65 I evidently disagree.

  • @pandmonium2k7 Cincinnati chili uses a semi-sweet chocolate that is a key ingredient in that recipe. Regular chili as in this vid. is the Texas-Mexico variety , and typical to many Mexican foods use a dark bitter cocoa to enrich the chili. Provides a bit of colour and a slight bitterness to it (really not too noticable). I have always included it as it is the way I was shown in Mexico many years back (been there quite a few times). I do think it makes a difference. Give it a try! cheers, KtC

  • @thatbastardson Folks change recipes either because of available ingredients or to experiment (create some fusion). My only thought is to recognise the difference so as to understand more traditional or authentic foods. I get more heated over a Boeuf (beef) Bourguignon where some folks add red wine to stew and give it that name when in fact they have missed the entire point of achieving the correct flavours.

Beans in chili doesn't create a major different taste, just a more hearty version.

  • @wakemusicalarm oh yea. people are absolute freakshows when it comes to bbq, chili, etc. its ridiculous. this is a great recipe, beans or not. you can throw this in the crockpot, then come home from work, and eat a good meal. as far as im concerned put some beans in it because they are good. then relax, because arguing about beans is just odd.

  • @cprobosteuribe Hahaha, it's ok, seems you are kinda busy, hope to see more vids bro

    Bye

  • @cprobosteuribe Thank you very much and sorry for teh late response :) I miss a few at times! cheers! KtC

  • @wakemusicalarm I think the fact most commercial chili is made with beans kind of sums up the status quo. Texan's enjoy their chili without beans but I have had it with beans when visiting so it is not uncommon. This is a proven recipe either using can beans or dry beans (boiled up) then added. I like the kidney beans but also pinto too. Just meat chili is boring unless on something (fries, rice, bread). Most foods are changed for a reason! Thank you and cheers! KtC

  • @kooktocook I had a guy freak out at me and call me names in a youtube comment because I tried to defend beans in chili as personal choice. It's silly, nobody goes around freaking out that REAL pizza doesn't have pepperoni or whatever.
