Singer and songwriter Rickie Lee Jones, whose early hit "Chuck E's in Love" launched her career 30 years ago, may have adopted a softer music style, but her political views, including on US President Barack Obama, have lost none of their bite. An exclusive AFP interview with the star about her voice, her new album, and politics. Natural sound version of AFPTV report.

  • Why is the announcer talking in Klingon.

  • Your probably right to lose faith with politics!!! John Lennon & Yoko did that, and then sang give peace a chance, but I think that was the helplessness they must of felt trying to change things instantly with there fame! Pray if you like, but if people don't have equality in every walk of life, WAR WILL ALWAYS EXISTS!!!

  • yup, the right ear headphone thing worked well. i woke up today just thinking rikki lee stuff....pre-spring ritual of mine,,:-)

  • @paxivet

The answer to your second question is Yes. Also to the third. And you are the moron.

  • George W. Bush was NOT elected to his first term in office; he was awarded the office after settlement of Bush vs. Gore in the Supreme Court case. The election was contested because the vote appeared to be extremely tight. Later, after all the full and final vote tally, it was discovered that Al Gore had actually won the popular vote for President. Four years later, George W Bush did actually win the presidency outright. Rickie Lee is correct.

  • "when George Bush took the office in the white house, and he wasn't elected" Was there a military coup in America that I somehow missed? WTF is she talking about. I thought I came to listen to this because I liked her and her music. But I can't get behind morons and this woman is a moron! Sorry to all her fans out there but you are fans of a moron!!!

  • @MrBostonBeatdown Thank you for the tip. That worked perfectly!
