(NOTE - this clip was originally broadcast in color but was recorded in Black & White)

Here is the last few minutes of an episode of Newstalk with Naurice Roberts.

This program came on at 6am before Comedy Classics at 6:30am. What a scary piece of music to start your morning with.

You know, I have always listed this as being from December 1978, as that is what everyone else listed it as - probably since it had a story regarding Christmas - but in paying closer attention I notice she says "Well, Christmas is over but...".

Now, this had to have been broadcast on a weekday, since the lineup with Newstalk followed by Comedy Classics was only on Monday-Friday at this timeframe. So, in examing a calendar from December 1978 we see that the 25th was on a Monday, so the soonest this could have been from is Tuesday the 26th - with the only other possibilites being the 3 other following days - Wednesday the 27th, the 28th, and Friday the 29th.

To me, it seems much more likely that this is from January of 1979 - as is the other half of the tape - which is proven by the Chicago Health & Raquetball Club commercial. What do you guys think?

(More "evidence" - The end voiceover by Ron Beattie also references a memorial mass for Dr. Martin Luther King - whose birthday is January 15th.)

This aired on local Chicago TV in January 1979.
