Chuck and Vince really "Want It!" Find out how the City of Toronto helps you recycle your monitor, speakers, old computers, electronics, tv and more. Curbside collection customers put your E-waste out on garbage day beside your bin - a separate, different truck than the garbage truck will collect following garbage pick-up.

  • That's not backslash

  • @XCavaleX Yeah ... Vince made an error there it's a slash or, better said, forward slash.

  • I love the Gorilla mask aka reference to the Active Surplus store on Queen.

My only gripe is that Vince says "backslash" when clearly the URL is just a "slash."

Despite that, the city of Toronto is pretty tech-savvy.

  • @hmsvicky - we note you are referencing the audio here on the backslash ... Yo, Vince - 'ya shoulda' said forward slash or slash!

  • This is awesome! Who is the guy playing Vince? He looks familiar...

  • @deathstar79 Here are the names:

Chuck is Nug (yes, just a one word name) his twitter handle is @Nug13

Vince is Marte Adams (Marte doesn't have a twitter handle)

The lady at the curb is Marsha Mason (twitter handle is @mowsh)

  • So..Who do I call? B/c I have a big TV sitting outside on my lawn..

  • do these guys want something?

  • I throw up in my mouth at all the vintage stereo equipment and big speakers that are lost that way..........

  • It's not like the city of Toronto hasn't come up with funny PSAs in the past. Remember the "keep our lake clean" ads with the nutty scientists?

This one, however, is the best so far.

  • Omg '/' is not a backslash

  • It's nice to see that City of Toronto is now collecting electronics, but I would like to know what happens to them after that. Are the electronics efficiently & safely recycled by responsible facilities, or do they get shipped overseas for improper "recycling" like most e-waste? This makes a big difference for me, since the latter is both environmentally costly & a health hazard to those who recycle the items.

  • You guys aren't serious right? These commercials are annoying; almost more then Spence Diamonds ... Not to mention there are companies who will PAY you for your old electronics ... You may think this is saving the world but all it's doing is wasting tax payers money.

  • @hmsvicky I found that the "Backslash" fit perfectly with everything else they did lol

The mixed up shirts (Want it We!)

    and the SPEAKERS. SPEAKERS. SPEAKERS!!

or better when they point at us for the "we" part and then at themselves for the "your" part

    BRILLIANT.

  • Hahaha !!

  • wow! glad to see that city hall doesn't yake itself too seriously -- other sectors of this stiffy establishment could learn a thing or two about connecting with iys citizenry :)
