1. The Japanese could amass such a large force to attack U.S. Bases all over the Pacific at the same time and the U.S. (who had broken Japanese codes a year earlier) not even suspect anything.
2. The Radar Station at Pearl Harbor could possibly mistake 360 Japanese aircraft for a flight of 20 B-17s COMING IN FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
3. The U.S. Carrier Fleet be conveniently out on exercises at the time.

Pearl Harbor was NOT a surprise attack, a result of US intel failure NOR a brilliant Jap plan...FDR KNEW about it beforehand and actually PUSHED the Japs to attack - Robert Stinnett's book DAY OF DECEIT, THE TRUTH ABOUT FDR AND PEARL HARBOR. the doctor that filmed the arizona exploding was filming the ship and then pointed the camera upward, where high level horizontal bombers were barely visible, he pointed the camera back down and then boom. thats why you see the ship, then randomly a hand appears, the cut out the part where you he was trying to get the bombers.

That is one very clear print if you watch closely you can actually see the foremast shifting slightly backwards the moment when t ship is torn apart then it topples over forward you can also see the armor plate flying off at the bow section
