  • i can say pinging's gonna be a bitch.

  • @justfourthen hahaha

  • @ethosflux IPV6 doesn't use broadcasting. It has more efficient algorithms for using TCP

  • Ok call me a conspiracy theorist I dont care ... There main reason for developing IPV6 was not for computers but for we HUMANS!!! A neurochip can be created which will contain a unique IPV6 address , used for tracking. If my brother has that chip , I could even ping him on the cmd prompt ! Do a tracert , see the diverse network connections , place his IP on the IP address locator on the internet , and see where he is - Synchronize this primary key ( IPv6 adress ) as part of a database and ...

  • i think we will run out of ipv6 if we are assigning a dildo 10 ips

  • @graceoverall

    Have a look at ipv6.he.net

It lets you have a IPv6 tunnel over IPv4, which means that you can use it today and as more websites enable IPv6, you can use IPv6 to reach them.

  • IPv6 is MY friend!! Tragically, I can't connect to the internet via my friend because neither my router, nor my modem, nor my name servers, nor any website I wish to visit, nor anything in between is IPv6 compatible. It's so sad, because I REALLY want to play with it and get experience setting it up, but nothing doing :(

Nonetheless, thanks so much for the very informative and well done vids Todd ;)

  • @GloriousOtaku you should use DNS or mDNS. And you can set static adress, so you could learn that by heart. But you should not, you should use names.

  • @AYallure You usually get /48 or /64 depending on your IPS and your demands.

/48 if you need more than one IPv6 and /64 if you only have one net.
